Some fantastic performances were witnessed back in April at the Sportshall UK Final in Manchester. In the Under 15 girls competition Halle Ferguson (Greater Manchester, Trafford AC) after finishing fifth in the North West Regional Final, Halle took the All Rounder title in her first year of the age group.
The boys contest was won by Mason Owusu-Dellimore (Surrey, South London) after a close competition with Gabriel Ball of (Warwickshire, Leamington Athletics Academy). Mason showed his strength on the track after smashing the 4 Lap race in a time of 40.1 seconds.
Mason has been out competing this summer focussing on the 100 metres and 200 metres. Mason won the Surrey county championships in May with a time of 11.86 and then went on and set a new personal best of 11.8 in the 100m at the Ebbisham Boys’ League in July.
Halle has also been competing this summer and in the recent England Athletics Age Group Championships it was fantastic to witness Halle win the Under 15’s High Jump. Not only did Halle claim the 2019 High Jump crown, she also won the National title in the Triple jump after an outstanding performance of 11.91 metres which puts Halle number one All – Time on the Power of 10 rankings.
Sportshall Associates are delighted to confirm that for the forthcoming season both Halle & Mason will act as Ambassadors for the Sportshall UK Championships. They will join athletes including Amber Anning (2016 All Round Girls Champion) and Theo Adesina (2017 All Rounder Boys Champions) on the Sportshall Ambassadors Roll of Honour who have both gone on to experience success internationally in recent years.
Both Halle & Mason claimed their titles in the first year of the Under 15 age group. We look forward to watching both athletes compete in Sportshall throughout the 2020 season when they will be fighting to retain their UK titles.
