Ron Pickering Memorial Fund

Thank you to all who have contributed to this seasons Ron Pickering collection. Our total so far (with the UK Final still to come) is a fantastic £2,416.42

All the money raised has been forwarded to the Fund that awards grants annually to talented young athletes between 15 and 23, who are still in education, in the hope it will keep them in sport and enable them to realise their potential. Grants are also given to coaches and coaching projects, and for Sportshall athletic equipment.

Ron’s wife Jean, who runs the fund and is also president of the Sportshall Athletics Association, is pictured right along with George Bunner who has raised thousands for the fund over the past 12 years.

Last season a total of £41,200 was given to 195 young athletes from the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund across a wide range of events.
