Aviva UKA Academy Awards - Helping Improve the Nation’s Fitness

Aviva UKA Academy Awards also have the added advantage that they form part of a national fitness improvement programme being run jointly by UKA and Eveque. We are challenging schools to improve their fitness levels and as part of this programme we will be gathering data from across the nation.

The Aviva UKA Academy Sportshall Awards work on the presumption that the fitter the child the better the result will be and therefore it is not necessary to perform body fat testing which requires professional medical administration.

The programme allows each child gain a ‘fitness’ score from which they can then see their own improvement over time. In addition, the overall average fitness improvement of each team or class can also be measured.

As time progresses, the Aviva UKA Academy Award results will be used to build picture of fitness levels throughout the UK and other countries enabling comparisons between geographical areas and between different year group. If you would like to participate in this project please register at www.uka.org.uk/awards
