World Marathon Challenge : Register, Race & the Record your times

Register, Race & Record your Results … It is not too late!

The Eveque World Marathon Challenge 2017/18 has been running as a virtual competition since October 2017 and so far, from many teams that have raced there are 5 times that have beaten the world record time for the Marathon with many others coming close.

In the under 13 age group the fastest team in the World so far is St George’s School, Sheerness who have posted the amazing time of 1 hour 49 minutes and 8 seconds just beating the time set by Pardubice in the Czech Republic.

In the Open age category Graham’s Gazelles from Nottingham are ahead posting 1 hour 49 minutes and 21 seconds.

Can your team run faster?

There is still time to test see if you too can beat Dennis Kimetto’s world record. Teams of between 26 and 36 members each run 200m sections in a continuous relay until the full marathon distance has been covered, so each team member runs up to 9 sections.

If you have already taken part in your race you can use the finals week as an opportunity to try and beat your previous time, hopefully in the UK we will have some good weather to make the events even more enjoyable and rewarding.

Register your team at: www.competitioncentre.net where you can also see results and records.

In addition to the marathon challenge there is the alternative for Primary school age groups who can race to be the fastest in the world over 5000m.

The competition is free to enter and all the resources to run an event are available for free on the Sporthall website.
